Decorex Cape Town 2024: A Showcase of Design Excellence from Africa

From the 6th to the 9th of June 2024, Decorex Cape Town will transform the Cape Town International Convention Centre into a vibrant hub for design enthusiasts.

Featuring over 230 of Africa’s most exciting lifestyle brands, this event promises a dazzling display of cutting-edge design, curated exhibitions, inspiring talks, and product launches.

This year’s event, in collaboration with partners Plascon, Samsung, Lexus, and the City of Cape Town, is set to impress with its standout features. Internationally acclaimed Cape Town-based interior designer Kim Williams will showcase her unique approach to interiors during the Designer Spotlight presentation. Plascon will highlight the creativity of South African interior designers with their Plascon Colour Design Pods, themed “Vibrant Harmony: A Collaborative Celebration of Colour with Plascon.” These room sets, created by Hocus Interior Design Studio, Okhre, and Mezzanine, will feature lively and immersive spaces using colours from the 2024 Plascon Colour Palettes.

At 100% Hospitality by Belgotex, leading flooring manufacturer Belgotex will collaborate with Decorex Africa and HK Studio’s Megan Hesse and Andrea Kleinloog, along with Anatomy Design, to create visionary hospitality spaces. Visitors will find some of Anatomy Design’s latest releases on display.

The Decorex House, presented by Private Property, will debut a conceptual house installation featuring top brands like Fenster, Mixx Cement, Plantation Shutters, and HDL Home, showcasing high-quality construction elements and the latest technology.

The Craft and Design Institute (CDI) will present NEXT24, an annual exhibition of export-worthy designs from top local talents, featuring furniture, lighting, textiles, fashion accessories, and homeware ranges curated by CDI’s Market Development Programme Manager, Fran Stewart. Visitors can expect an exhibition packed with new designs being unveiled with fresh inspiration from the likes of Anata Design Studio, Barrydale Hand Weavers, Lungiswa and Nehanda Designs.

Lexus, inspired by their brand ethos ‘Making Luxury Personal,’ will collaborate with Mink Interiors, Anna Correia, JH Interiors, and Artep Studio to create four exceptional feature spaces, each inspired by the latest Lexus car models and the pillars of Authentic, Refined, Engaging, Imaginative, and Omotenashi.

Attendees can take a break at the dedicated restaurant areas, and foodies will love the Samsung Bespoke Cooking Theatre, where local chefs like Imtiyaaz Hart, Jade de Waal, Mash Mugwena, and Jocelyn Myers-Adams will demonstrate the latest Samsung appliances. Explore Samsung’s Bespoke range at their stand and learn how to customise your space.

While at the champagne bar, be sure to pop across to Brazilian design brand Nosso’s stand, where you’ll find an array of new releases, including a papier-mâché lamp by Orgus Collection and the award-winning Swimming Pool Table from Estúdio Rain. Also, look out for the new outdoor furniture collection from the celebrated South African fashion brand MaXhosa.

The Future of Design area will host the Future Talks series, featuring industry leaders discussing transformative topics.

Finally, Decorex Africa will introduce a pioneering exhibition on circular design, educating and inspiring visitors about sustainable practices and how to integrate circularity principles into everyday life.
